It’s that time of the week again where we ask the lovely blog owner: WHATCHA READIN’? In this weekly segment, I give a brief glimpse into the books that are currently occupying my spare time, as well as a little recap of the past seven days, overall.
So, Amber, whatcha readin’?
The next few days are going to be hectic as all hell, but for very good cause: my best friend’s getting married! So while I was able to get a lot of reading done this week (which you’ll see below), I’m not sure that I can repeat those results due to all the bridesmaidly duties I’m set to perform between now and Saturday. Additionally, there’s another Bout of Books coming up quickly, so I need to start kicking my reading into high gear if I’m going to make some reading goals! Woohoo!
I didn’t read this at all. I’m a terrible person who has found herself in the midst of a rut and can’t get out. If anyone has any tips or tricks on how to pull oneself out of a reading rut with a book, please let me know!!! I want to finish this, but it’s been so…difficult. halp pls
As much as I gripe about the content of The Radium Girls slowing me down on progress, I have truly been immersed in Groupie over the past week — and it’s not even a type of book that I would generally enjoy. The reverse harem genre is not one that I’ve explored too thoroughly, as I’m often concerned that the book is going to be too much of a porn without plot novel. I mean, yeah, okay, this is pretty much porn without a strong plot, but as time moved on reading this, more of one developed. I’ve still got a few more weeks until my date for this book on the blog tour, but I can’t want to be able to share all of my thoughts about this with all of you.
Ironically, despite not really being huge on books that are heavy on sex, I dove right into Yes, Please by Willow Summers after finishing Groupie. I originally read this around this time last year during my blogging hiatus last spring, but, obviously, never got around to review it. (I initially had been given this book and its sequel as part of a blog tour that I wasn’t able to participate in due to the hiatus.) Yes, Please follows Olivia Jonston, a recent Stanford grad desperate for her first job out of college. After landing a job in the prestigious — and hunky — Huntle Carlisle’s office, Olivia soon comes to learn that her job is more involved and steamy than she originally expected.
