I’ve never done one of these posts before, so here it goes! Between rent, car payment, cell and insurance bills, medical expenses, etc, I don’t really get to spend a lot of money on the extras for myself, like books. It’s why I’m so thankful for the amazing resources Virginia Beach has in our library system so I can stay up-to-date on some of the bigger trends in the community without having to spend a penny (except the, like, $0.20 in gas it takes to drive to the library and back). Now that I’m starting to catch up a little bit on my back log of ARCs, I decided it was time to head down to get another nice little haul!
The books I got this time around are:
Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo
- The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater
- Texas Gothic by Rosemary Clement-Moore
- The Jewel by Amy Ewing
- Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
- A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
I know I’m really slow on the uptake on the majority of these series, especially since they are such hits right now among the community, but considering that the hardcovers alone start around $20 at Barnes and Noble, I know that I’m ultimately saving hundreds — literally — by borrowing before I commit myself to one of these forever. I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about all of these books, so I’m definitely excited. Shadow and Bone is the first on the list that I’m set to tackle; I hope it lives up to all of the hype!
