Six Word Stories: Delay

As is a weekly tradition on A Hopelessly Wandering Mind, Ben Nicholson’s blog, the six-word story challenge tasks writers to condense a one-word prompt into a work of flash fiction. This project is proof that sometimes, the smallest sentences can make the biggest impact. The theme this week is delay. My contribution:
